Alpine plants are used with great effect to create rock gardens. The term alpines is also used for other plants that grow well in similar conditions. In the right situation alpines are easy to grow and need little attention other than regular weeding.

The best selection is available in the spring but a very good range is available throughout the year.

If you have limited space, but wish to grow as many alpines as possible, then sink gardens are the perfect answer. Most alpines will grow happily in containers if they are given suitable drainage.
