About Us

Charity & Community

Aylett Nurseries is more than just a business, it’s a community.

As a proud family-run business rooted in St Albans, our local area and the community within it are hugely important to us. We are passionate about supporting projects that cultivate growth – whether it’s nourishing the body through homegrown food, making social connections, enhancing our shared outdoor spaces, or simply sparking joy in someone’s day. Our commitment extends to local schools, where we take great pride in inspiring the next generation of gardeners, nurturing a love for nature that will flourish for years to come.

Charity Starts at Home

We support a number of local and national charities that work in our community.

In 2024 together we raised funds for:

  • NGS National Garden Scheme
  • St. Albans Foodbank
  • Greenfingers Charity
  • RNIB
  • Macmillan Cancer Support
  • Hearing Dogs for Deaf People
  • RNLI
  • Save the Children
  • RSPB
  • Hannah Banana

Growing Together

We have built a relationship with many local allotment owners through their allotment associations, and local FoodShare community growing groups and charities. It has been a pleasure to work together, there is so much to be learnt and gained from by growing in a community.

Growing Stronger

We are proud to support a number of projects accessed by individuals with health and social needs. Growing and caring for plants together is great way to socialise, work as a team, gain confidence, find success and try something new. Growing stronger together through gardening.

Learning Together

In 2024 we supported over 50 local schools and educational settings by supplying seeds and resources to help with growing projects and fundraising events.
