In recent years we have supported:

• Garden Releaf day raising money for Greenfingers
• The Biggest Coffee Morning in September raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Relief

and our annual Christmas collection raises funds for Charities close to our hearts, not to mention the smaller more local charities such as Hannah Bannana and Larks in the Park. In 2016 our chosen charity was an independent local charity working under the umbrella of Age Concern St Albans, providing a community welfare centre on three days a week in StAlbans enabling otherwise housebound elderly people to engage in a variety of social activites, and enjoy a hot lunch .  We also like to get involved with our young gardeners and local schools, encouraging local schools to grow their own and various other playground projects. During the school holidays we also encourage our younger gardeners with popular events such as Spuddy Buddy.

We also support clubs, and church communities, providing goods, advice and by posting information about local activities on our notice boards. This includes information about Gardens taking part in the National Open Gardens Scheme.

After the festive season we always provide a facility to recycle Christmas trees and the chippings are used by local allotment associations and the local Highfield Park for pathways.

We are very involved with our local allotment societies, Horticultural Societies and initiatives such as Roads in Bloom, Cultivation Street, Waste Not Want Not, and other projects enhancing our local environment. We have also supported Earthworks in St Albans. Earthworks offers trainees, often with learning difficulties or mental health problems, work experience and training in horticultural and land-based skills.

For the last five years we have teamed up with the Hertfordshire Orchard Initiative for a special Apple Weekend promoting local orchards and British apples.
