Family Friendly Garden Centre
Children are the next generation of gardeners and we hope visiting Aylett Nurseries will inspire a life long passion for gardening and growing.
Gardening is a fantastic way to spend more time outdoors, teach children about where their food comes and encourage healthier eating habits as a result, it’s a great form of exercise too.
For your young gardeners choose plants that are easy and interesting to grow, select quick and tasty edible like cress, radish, lettuce and runner beans; bright, colourful flowers like sunflowers and poppies, or highly scented plants such as herbs and sweet peas. Sweet fruits like Strawberries and blueberries are always popular and can even be turned into smoothies and jams if you get a bountiful crop.
The Celebration Garden
A visit to the Celebration Garden is the perfect way for our younger visitors to let off some steam! Children of all ages will enjoy getting dizzy in the grass spiral maze, seeing how they measure up on our measuring pole and enjoy exploring the willow dome and tunnel. Bring your magnifying glasses and see what buggy visitors there are staying in the Bug Hotel and of course enjoy the colours, textures, scents and sounds the garden has to offer whilst enjoying the fresh air – a sensory masterclass for your little ones!
The Celebration Garden is free to visit and open all year round. Our picnic tables are the perfect spot for enjoying a snack – take away hot drinks are available from Seasons Café for grown ups!
Visiting Seasons Café
Visiting our café with little ones could not be easier, with table service, highchairs available and a delicious children’s menu.
Changing facilities and a parent and child toilet are available in the adjoining toilet facilities.
Pushchair Friendly
The whole garden centre is pushchair friendly, with no awkward stairs to navigate. Many of the areas you may want to visit are covered up or are indoors, so your young ones won’t get cold.
